    Much ado about nothing.

    "Unlimited" comes with "throttling" in almost any context.  Go to Red Lobster, buy their "unlimited shrimp" and ask them to bring you 100 shrimp at a time.  

    AT&T could have handled this better, but I don't have a problem in principle with what they did (apply rationing algorithms to distribute the supply a limited resource in during periods of contention).

    No, to use your analogy it would be like Red Lobster using a special smaller 2-shrimp plate than the normal plate they normally serve shrimp on. Nobody with unlimited asked for anything special like a 100-shrimp plate; they just expected the same capacity as the limited offering. Not offering the same, standard data delivery volume is the BS.

    My brother in law works for AT&T and even he said that if he didn't get the discount he wouldn't be using AT&T for his cell phone service

    They’re STILL CHARGING ME $200. (ONE LINE) A MONTH, FOR THE SAME $79. Plan for (2 Lines) Unlimited PLAN” !!! I can’t Teri you how many days & hours, I wasted fighting with AT&T, to HONOR THE CONTRACT I STILL MAINTAIN WITH THEM..... And STILL LOST A LINE, WHICH I PAY ADDITIONALLY FOR (Non-Unlimited) FOR MY WIFE!!!! SEVENTEEN DOLLARS COMPENSATION? UNACCEPTABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! JAB NJ
