Maybe that will update my status to a Regular Member. Johnathan, you said 25 posts were required my status changed for a couple of days and now i'm a Junior Member again. Why

I'd have to look into why you're stil a Junior Member - not that it matters - but to answer the latter question: when there is a need for a new moderator (usually because someone is stepping down) the existing moderators bring up good candidates (based on how often they're around, how level-headed and knowledgeable they are, how articulate), then rule all those people out and bring freaks like me on board.

The gist of it is that there's no application process. If we need a moderator, and we decide you'd make a good one, we'll ask you. Right now we're not looking.

I would add that asking to be a Moderator is a sure way to guarantee that you won't be considered.

    Especially with 41 posts.

Why don't the existing moderators tell us all what the Perfect moderator needs to be? This could help some of us to try to earn merits in order to be a moderator. Also a Moderator Contest would be nice a la Making the Band and the winner becomes a moderator

dude, why are you so hung up on AI? its just a message board man... just post whatever comes to mind that is relavant, contribute to the community and dont piss people off and you will ahve loads of fun... well, to be honest fun usually happens when people get pissed off but still... being a moderator isnt a big deal... if anything its a pain in the a$s... I wouldnt sweat it... just

Sarcasm aside, robo and I pretty much outlined what we look for when we're looking. There is no concept of "earning merits," and there is exactly 0% chance that we'll hold a contest.

There is wisdom in Paul's posts. A moderator basically volunteers to be part custodian and part babysitter for an internet forum for free. An Administrator volunteers to take on more responsibility, also for free. It's not a position for kudos seekers or social climbers or people concerned with status; as robo pointed out, we tend not to consider people who seem to think that way. The wise man doesn't trust a weapon to the person who enjoys wielding it.

Just contribute to the boards as best you can, enjoy the community here, and don't worry about the little tag under your name. If I decided to, I could go in and rearrange them at random or disable them altogether, so they don't mean anything substantive.

Executive Washroom benefits are minimal, though. Except the little soaps. They're quite nifty.

From what I hear, the MacNN Staff washroom isn't nearly as nice as ours.

They have so many more people using it! Not nearly as many little soaps to go around. Plus, our washroom has nattier decorations.

The little AI logos are great, but I'm not sure about the grey color...

But being AI soap, it gets into such a lather over nothing at all!

I also requisitioned some of those little fresheners to improve the, um, "atmosphere" leaking under the door to the men's washroom, but I think we may need something stronger...

Well, naming no names, remember we had to have the extra-wide circumference toilet bowls installed because someone couldn't aim properly after an evening in the AI bar...

And don't think I'm not aware that the girls in bunny suits that security "sneak" in to the elevator at weekends are going up to the "secret", unmarked "Administrator's Penthouse" floor...

Well Belle i admit that grey is not a fantastic color for a washroom, what color do you like ?

For the athmosphere problem ... do you have any solution ? I must add that i a m a little disapointed with all the soaps around, does not our beloved male members of the washroom where supposed to be very clean peoples ... or does our frequentation , we poor member of AI make you dirty ?

    moi?

While I admit to using the executive library to host a few young ladies this weekend, nobody clad in something as tasteless as a bunny suit would be invited by me. Perhaps James is our culprit?

Or have you not told us something, Belle dear?

    This thread is really stupid.

Hey You are not allowed to have fun without inviting me. Especially not when bunny girls are involved.
