But ARM is sheer idiocy. The ability to virtualize other operating systems is a vital feature for far more people than Apple seems to think.
lol - ARM is not sheer idiocy; I’m rather bummed the recent MacBook Air refresh didn’t offer it. I don’t see people virtualizing on a MBAir that often.
Also you seem to be assuming Apple would be replacing Intel CPUs on all Mac’s - that is an idiotic assumption in my opinion. macOS has straddled multiple CPU architectures running at once before and currently is with iOS and macOS. I think Catalyst is as much laying the ground for two architectures in the Mac as much as building easier bridges between Mac and iOS apps.
ARM for some Mac models is inevitable - I just wish it would happen sooner rather than later!
