    Will they be brighter? Because currently I have to use my iPad for work frequently outdoors in full sunlight and the screens are NOT BRIGHT ENOUGH.
    Get a parasol.
    A parasol in an airplane cockpit. That'll work. Maybe I should be more specific: Flying with iPads is the industry standard now. I attach mine to the yoke. It isn't possible to keep it out of the sun all the time. Lack of brightness and overheating is a HUGE issue.

    Put 5G and MiniLED in it and I’ll buy.  This single technology update at a time thing is getting old, particularly for a company that used to be on the bleeding edge.
    Everyone gets worked over 5G in iPads and MacBooks. While convenient it’s not necessary if you have an iPhone. I would not let lack of 5G  be a concern since the rollout is crawling. We will be stuck with LTE for several more years except in major metropolitan areas.
    Beyond that 5G at this point has very little to offer most people.    It will likely take years for the tech to roll out and become stable. It is not something I’d worry about for a couple of years.

    DigiTimes = Unreliable
    DigiTimes is always a red flag for me.

    Keep your 5G (when true 5G ever gets here) and put microLED in it and I'll buy.

    My current iPP will last me until it just doesn't work. Then I'll consider whatever Apple might be offering. MiniLED doesn't move me.
    Fixing the RAM and SSD storage sizes is even a bigger issue for me.   I’m not sure why people dwell on 5G, it is too early for that tech.  However the iPad is way behind where it should be RAM and storage wise.

    Interestingly the reason to drive storage increases is related to the 5G problem.   We have no where near 100% coverage so online storage is out of the question.   To be truly “mobile” we need to be operable without any connection at all.

    You will always have extremes that Apple can’t overcome but I do believe that this could lead to brighter screens.   As for overheating that is a far more difficult issue.  Part of the problem there is the battery, the iPad will often go outside the batteries operating range before the electronics get too hot.  To address this Apple would likely need new battery tech.

    Maybe it wasn't clear that this was a joke.

    However, there are a ton of sun shades for iPads available. Maybe you can find one that works for your environment?

    Two iPad Pro's, in one year? I don't see that happening.

    Tell that to Macbook Pro 15 users....

    A spec-bump isn’t a “new” model the way the new iPad Pro is (with the lidar addition among other improvements).
    Once upon a time, there was a third generation of iPad, released in March 2012, followed by a fourth generation of iPad, unexpectedly released in November 2012. So, yes, it can happen and it very well might this year. And I'm not the only one holding off their upgrade in anticipation of it.

    And P.S. the MacBook Pro 15 released in November 2018 was a silent upgrade, with new graphics and RAM as well, not a typical speed bump...
