Sanctioned Insanity
Many members have noted in other threads and to me personally that the boards just aren't what they were; less fun to participate in, overly moderated and too politically correct. I find that since I joined earlier in the year, things have become less fun and more of a drag. There are no surprises, occasional threads about wild topics like iCheese? are locked or even deleted.
Some threads, like 'THE INSTALLER'S PRIVATE TESTes AREA' are fun to watch/read and even participate in..but almost all are locked immediately leaving many to believe that the fun is being sapped out of AI...
Thus I propose to you the creation of a few threads with the exclusive [SI] tag (short for Sanctioned Insanity) wherein we can have these playful, seemingly endless conversations.
I see this happening with a few, not-so-limiting rules.
1.) No posts purely for the sake of posting...we need content, whatever it's about. No 'Test,' 'I agree,' 'Hi, this post means nothing' posts. If people turn into repeat offenders then for every content-less post they make their post counts will be decreased by 15%. Seriously, if you must test something, go to TI's testing area or edit one of your old posts from ages ago that no one will ever see again...so crammed it is in the moldy basement of AI.
2.) Everything is on topic. You can't wander off topic cause there is no topic to wander off of...
3.) If you are going to attack an idea or a person at least use some humor about it. IE, "Confound you Jamie, you're ruining my life! "
4.) The threads will really be long, extended chats, wherein you have more time to think about your post (vs. a live chat like the AppleInsider IRC chat.) I say this because others might suggest making a live chat, I say bah, where is the spirit of long, thought-out forum mongering?
5.) People coming in from nowhere, having no idea of the nature of or history of the thread and screaming 'OMIGOD, THIS THREAD IS GAY!' like they haven't seen a chat log before will be banned for a day.
6.) To apply for a [SI] thread you must PM a moderator, or post a thread in the Suggestions Forum if you think that the thread idea should be discussed.
If this idea actually gets off of the ground the rules will probably be different but you get the picture.

..edited for typoing...yes, Sanctioned Insanity is abbreviated SI, not SA...

Add to this spelling names correctly, Sprat
I guess that's what you get for typing at something like 100wpm though...

Maybe that says something about you?
And hey, that's two in favor. Maybe we should get some mods to vote?
CONFIRMED! This thread is now officially gay.
BTW this sort of thing would just not be tolerated in my TESTes thread . . .

It might, I don't know. By all means, have a vote. I do not think of gay to anything less or more than straight, and as such, am not insulted by direct attacks on my masculinity/femininity, especially by people whom I have never met in persona.

I don't have anything against gay people...that was a joke as well.
TI, you aren't helping much.

look above, chliine mah.
I'll post to the Mods board accordingly. I hope that this can be resolved without introducing the red tape of having to PM a moderator to post a thread.
In the meantime, YOU'RE ALL BANNED FOR DARING TO CRITICIZE US!!!! MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
*haha, i mean it as happy*
Ah, here it is.
