Italy's Nave de Vero Apple Store will not open on May 19, contrary to information previously posted on Apple's website.

The closures came after Apple had begun reducing hours to protect its employees and to comply with local curfews. As cases in Italy rose, Apple had begun selectively closing stores in hard-hit areas. Apple closed all of the Apple Store locations across Italy as a precautionary measure against COVID-19 on March 12.

Now, as Italy eases lockdown measures, Apple briefly posted opening hours for Apple Nave de Vero, located in Venice.

Apple Nave de Vero was originally said to operate on reduced hours -- 11:00 am to 7:00 pm -- as a cautionary measure.

Apple reopened all four of its Apple Stores in Switzerland on May 12, as part of the iPhone maker's bid to slowly return its retail efforts to normal around the world.

Apple also began reopening U.S. locations in Idaho, South Carolina, Alabama and Alaska, also operating on reduced hours for the foreseeable future.

Update May 14, 10:27 A.M. Eastern Time: Apple has retracted the opening information posted on its website.
