Yeah but the mr2200ac is already 2 years old, weird to be reviewing it now when it seems everyone is currently waiting and wondering if the entire lineup will ever get updated. The syno software looks great, but I’m personally stuck between just going to ubiquiti or holding out longer for new Synology hardware.
Synology has new products coming. Whether they're NAS or routing is unclear to me at the moment.

Do you have a lot of AC client devices? Do you have any AX clients?
Personally, I'd stay with AC until you're going to buy an AX laptop or iPad - that is, it doesn't make a lot of sense to buy a fresh router if your only AX device is an iPhone 11, but if you change your primary computing device in the house, maybe it becomes worthwhile.
Honestly, my experience with Synology has been on par with the Ubiquiti (not Amplifi) parts, and that's in no small part due to the fact that they're both using similar Qualcomm chips.
That said, we're looking into AX mesh. ASUS has four compatible devices using their AImesh.
AC/AX really isn't at all my draw to these beyond future compatibility. With 50-ish clients, 2 VLANS, 5 APs, and all ethernet backhaul it's really the software I'm after.
As far as hardware goes the thing I really need out of the RT2600 that is missing is 802.3ad LACP. That's the primary reason I didn't buy it 3.5 years ago... and it's still the reason today. It's just mind boggling to me that Synology, a NAS company, didn't release routers that support 802.3ad LACP.
Synology definitely has new NAS products coming, presumably in conjunction with DSM 7 later this year (maybe). With how backed up DSM 7 currently is though it makes me wonder if Synology has the resources to also launch updated routers at the same time. Maybe it's an entirely different product team, maybe not... IDK. Will they finally add 802.3ad... IDK.
So in summary, I do love the Syno software, it's powerful, but the hardware is lacking for my needs... I'll give up soon, especially now that the Ubiquity Dream Machine Pro is out. It's just a lot of hardware to get what I want, whereas I still hold out hope a "new rt2600" would solve it all much cheaper. Currently running mostly Asus gear acquired over many years, but it's all getting old and ready to start over.

What are you aggregating?
WAN? A client on the LAN like a NAS where you'd want the ports combined for greater bandwidth? For me, I have a 24 port switch after the router that does LACP. I do -not- expect AppleInsider readers to have a 24-port switch in their homes, but I'd also think that the majority don't have an LACP need.
I have about 50-ish clients, haven't done the VLANs in the house (although I've considered it for HomeKit devices. If I had devices I trusted less, I would completely do it. I've done it in the past to isolate things). For this, I was using only the Synology Router and Mesh nodes.
