In preparation of the Worldwide Developers Conference next week, Apple on Thursday issued an update to its Apple TV app for tvOS that now includes the Apple Events app.

With Apple Events now part of the Apple TV app, users can turn to the video hub for all things WWDC on both iOS and Apple TV. Viewers can expect access to the opening keynote and potentially developer sessions, special guest speakers and technical presentations.

The update arrives as Apple makes ready for its first ever virtual developers conference. Like other major annual conventions and corporate meetings, Apple's WWDC has been impacted by the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, prompting the company to forego its typical in-person gathering in favor of an "online experience."

This year's developers conference is expected to feature details on next-generation operating systems iOS 14, macOS 10.16, watchOS 7 and tvOS 14. New hardware, like a rumored 2020 iMac redesign, might also see unveiling at the keynote on Monday.

Recent reports claim Apple plans to take the opportunity to announce a long-rumored shift to ARM-based Macs.

Apple will air WWDC's keynote address and other relevant presentations on, the Apple Developer app, the Apple Developer website, the Apple TV app and on YouTube. AppleInsider will be covering WWDC live on Monday, June 22, starting at 10 a.m. Pacific, 1 p.m. Eastern.

I saw that this morning. So can I now delete the Apple Events app on my Apple TV and still watch all the content using the Apple TV app? I hope so as I already deleted it. If not, I can always re-install it.

I just went into the AppleTV app and searched for ‘wwdc’ and it shows last year’s event, as well as the special event from September 2019. So I guess the WWDC 2020 event will pop up there on Monday?
