The opinion pages have now utterly infected the news room. They are 100% propaganda and fake news at this point.  Anyone who has researched it knows they played an integral part in the “spygate“ scandal.
    Citing a debunked conspiracy theory to back up your claim the NYT is “fake news”? Yeah, no. Wonder where you got that idea. ߤ䦡mp;nbsp;

It is pretty clear that the NYT creates stories out of thin air.   Spygate, the Russian connection and many others got far more coverage than the fact deserved.    This is the problem with the NYT's, they often print total crap that they know is crap hoping that it sticks.

In addition, their newly released politically driven story about alleged targeting of US soldiers by Russia paying Afghanis should be considered a treasonous breach of national security.
    You guys are unreal.

By the bye... if (stipulating for a moment to the incorrect assertion that) the NYT (and others’) reporting about the Russians’ bounty put on US troops is merely politically driven and untrue, then there’s no breach of national security, right? If they made it up, then nobody in national security spilled the beans, because there would be no beans to spill. You can’t have it both ways.

On the other hand, in the likely event that the reporting is true, if this information is the result of a leak (we don’t really know that, do we?), which would be the more treasonous thing, getting the info out there to bypass the President, so that someone does something to protect the targeted US troops, or is the treasonous thing the President being alerted in his security briefs and doing nothing about it, or rather, doing less than nothing, as he works to actively reward Putin by seeking to draw down US forces in Europe, invites Putin back into the G7, etc?

We need more reporting like this, not less. It’s too bad the NYT doesn’t feel they can work within the Apple News platform to provide that reporting to a wider audience.

Good riddance! They only let you read the intro to an article before throwing up a toll gate.

If you are foolish enough to pay then what you get is indoctrination into leftist views rather than objective news reporting. Bye, bye, NYT and please don't return. You won't be missed.
    Astounding ignorance.

Perhaps you could enlighten us as to where you think objective news reporting is available? Fox? OAN? Pathetic hypocrisy from you. You boy is finished and will end up indicted.  Sadly, it is unlikely he will ever go to jail.

I thought the Trump claim was that spygate was underreported and ignored by the evil MSM?  Has there now been a pivot and now the claim that it's all fake news and got more coverage than it deserved?

Hard to keep up with this flailing nonsense.

Ah, the ignorant American turns up right on cue.

    A) You haven't got the FAINTEST idea of what "ultra left" actually means.
    B) The NYT is barely rated as ever-so-slightly left, but that's only because they continue to print fact-based articles.

😆😆😆😆😆😆 They are an over-the-top leftist political rag with zero credibility in journalism. If they are so fact based, why do they have to have a full page spread on retractions for pretty much every article through the week? You have zero clue about journalism. Sorry, but that’s the truth.
Yes, this opinion is an example of the popular belief that everything is just opinion. Actual journalism has always carried the practice of publishing corrections and retractions. It shouldn't be surprising that even the best journalists are still humans and therefore fallible. Despite fact-checkers and editors going over material before it's published, mistakes can still be found afterwards. So corrections and retractions are published to get things right. This is where responsibility meets the right to a free press.

There are plenty of examples of popular "news" sources that freely mix news and opinions and rarely admit error or make corrections. Worse, many of these outlets promulgate popular political narratives of the day that can be startlingly disjointed from information and narratives previously promoted by the same outlets, with no acknowledgment that there are any inconsistencies, even though both narratives can't be true. These outlets cater to loyal readers/listeners/viewers whose interests are primarily tribal and so they are unaffected by the cognitive dissonance inherent in their favored infotainment sources.
I didn't know it was possible to be as ignorant as your post indicates you may be. Now I know it is not just possible, but it is an undeniable reaiity.

Ah, the good old resort to the ad hominem attack, when left with nothing useful to say. It’s an undeniable “reaiity.”

P.S. If you look at the thread above, you’d realize I had responded to a silly comment calling the NYT “an over-the-top leftist political rag,” challenging its author’s apparent inability to discern opinion from reality-based journalism, and pointing out by contrast the cognitively dissonant narratives promulgated by opinion-drenched sources like “Fox News.” Based on your other proximate commentaries I would think you’d probably actually agree with me, but instead, you were so anxious to ham-fist the keyboard with un-clever insults, you set your reading comprehension skills aside. Maybe it’s time to go do something else, because if on further reflection you realize you actually do agree with me, you’ll see you’re not helping. At all.
