One of those new resources is a professional learning course for Develop in Swift, which Apple is making available to educators for free. It'll give educators the necessary skills needed to teach Swift and Xcode.

The professional course is launching alongside significant updates to the curricula of both Everyone Can Code and Develop in Swift.

The Develop in Swift curriculum, for example, has been revamped to "meet student learning styles, based on educator input." There are now four new Swift-related books, which Apple will release for free on its Apple Books platform in the fall.

The Everyone Can Code program, which is geared toward students in grades 4 to 8, is also getting an update in the form of a new book called "Everyone Can Code Adventures." The book will allow students to learn programming concepts as they move through lessons in Swift Playgrounds.

"Everyone Can Code Adventures" is available starting July 9 on Apple books.

Because of lockdowns due to coronavirus, Apple is also supporting at-home education with new coding challenges for kids and resources on a new Learning from Home website.

The Cupertino tech giant first launched Everyone Can Code in 2016 as a comprehensive program to help students learn coding and programming. As of 2019, the curriculum was being used in 4,000 schools and 80 community colleges. Develop in Swift was later released in 2019.

I’ve been playing around with Swift and I think Apple has hit the sweet spot between simplicity and expressiveness.

About time I got off the bench and cranked out an app.
