Aquified AppleInsider?

Don't know about the Admins and Members of this site, but the design scheme of AppleInsider is beginning to look like...dare I say...WINDOWS! I think that a nice, inoffensive Aqua theme would complement the forums quite nicely. Not an obnoxious and bold Aqua scheme, but a more subtle one. Like have that ribbed white-and-grey OS X texture as a background, and the buttons, banner and maybe the Emoticons Aquified. I just want som comments.

IIRC they wanted to change the look and it was a nice aqua type sleek look when they went to vBoard or something but they never did, i forget why

If someone wants to dig up the thread, there are pictures of the vB board ast3r3x mentions.

Thanks for digging that up, iBrowse.

To answer the original poster: we won't be fully aquifying the site. If you need a reason, there's about 30 trillion other aqua mac-related sites.

A little originality never hurt anyone.

The design that we worked on for the vBulletin incorporates several aqua elements. For instance, the top has a nice aqua bar, and all of the icons are pulled directly from OS X somewhere. All of them. Making them into good looking .gifs at various sizes... Brad and I can both attest to the absolute horror that this was.

Basically, the vB site looks like somebody took this current site and applied a liberal coat of aqua varnish. It's shinier.

Speaking of vB, it should be coming within the next two weeks... by mandate of those who own the servers... the perl process that these boards run off of actually killed the server for ~ 3 minutes yesterday... it's time to move on.

I know it's been said many times, but this time, I am pretty sure it's going to happen. Let's just hope that I don't bork up the import again, like I did last time.

Well good luck, I'm looking forward to the change. But I know Brad's going to miss good old UBB.

 Apple already thinks we are the scum of the earth. I`m sure they would jump at any chance to shut us down.

And what is Knight Rider? Does it have to do with the nightly builds of Chimera? <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laughing]" />

Are there any new/current pictures of the new AI in the works? I saw the pics from the threads back in the fall of 2002... but have there been any changes since then?
