Apple has moved on to its fifth round of developer betas for its upcoming major operating system releases, providing developers with new builds of watchOS 7, tvOS 14, iOS 14, and iPadOS 14.

The newest beta versions can be acquired from the Apple Developer Center by participants in the Developer Beta program, or as an over-the-air update for devices already using the betas. Public beta versions arrive within a few days of the developer versions, accessible via the Apple Beta Software Program site, with the most recent released on August 6.

The fifth iteration of builds replaces the fourth from August 4, the third beta round on July 22, the second round from July 7, and the first round from June 22.

Both iOS and iPadOS 14 make updates to the Home screen and app interface, as well as Messages and Safari, overhauls Siri's interface, adds elements to Maps, adds Sound Recognition alerts, and introducesCarKey, among other changes.

Betas for watchOS 7 have demonstrated Apple's new Sleep Tracking functionality, new watch faces, watch face sharing, and additional workout options.

The Apple TV's tvOS 14 adds the Home app to the set-top box, updates HomeKit Secure Video, and makes smaller adjustments to Apple Arcade.

A new beta for macOS Big Sur has yet to arrive, but is expected soon.

AppleInsider, and Apple itself, strongly recommend users don't install the betas on to "mission-critical" or primary devices, as there is the remote possibility of data loss or other issues. Instead, testers should install betas onto secondary or non-essential devices, and to make sure there are sufficient backups of important data before updating.

It’s 1.8gb. I just installed it and now I understand; it has a new iOS Unreal Editor and Fortnite game included.  :D

On Apple TV when you hold down the Home button on the pop up menu with the clock and profiles etc the icon for airplay to select a different audio source/speaker now animates/pulses blue.
