Apple orders 'High Desert' comedy starring Patricia Arquette for Apple TV+
Apple today announced that the comedy "High Desert," starring Patricia Arquette, will be coming to Apple TV+ soon.

Patricia Arquette stars in Apple TV+ "High Desert"
"High Desert" is set in Yucca, California and follows Arquette as Peggy, a former addict who decides to make a new start after the death of her mother. Following the death, Peggy makes the decision to become a private investigator.
The show is created and written by Nancy Fichman ("Nurse Jackie," "Damages") and Katie Ford ("Miss Congeniality"), and Jennifer Hoppe ("Grace and Frankie," "Nurse Jackie," "Damages"). The trio will also serve as executive producers of the comedy, in conjunction with Ben Stiller, through Red Hour Films.
"High Desert" marks Apple's second partnership with Arquette and Stiller following the series order for "Severance."
Apple also notes that "High Desert" will join upcoming Apple Original series produced by Apple Studios including a new untitled Team Downey and Adam Perlman drama series; "Masters of the Air," a new limited drama series from Apple Studios and executive produced by Steven Spielberg's Amblin Television, and Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman's Playtone; and films "Emancipation," "Killers of the Flower Moon" and "Snow Blind."

As my brother would say, that sounds like a laugh riot.
Maybe it will be a great show, but that pitch is a dud.
Am thoroughly enjoying the comedy of Ted Lasso, despite hating sportsball. Watched it because people I listen to said it was funny, and low & behold, it’s funny.
And, for the record, no one is this thread has "judged the comedy" of the show. My point was that drug addiction and a dead mother isn't your typical starting point for a comedy. But maybe it's a dark comedy. Who knows. Patricia Arquette and the fact that it's an Apple Original are good enough selling points for me to check it out when it lands.
