Introduced alongside iPhone 5 in 2012, Apple's EarPods replaced the standard white earbuds that shipped with iPod and iPhone devices for more than a decade. Featuring directed speaker ports and a comfortable in-ear fit, the design served as a basis for AirPods and AirPods Pro. A Lightning model debuted with iPhone 7 in 2016 as Apple moved away from the traditional 3.5mm headphone jack.
I guess I'm in the minority; In addition to having defective ears (thanks a lot, God) which fail to hold them in for more than a few moments, I've never found the original ear buds or the later EarPods to be comfortable at all, at all.  The original AirPods were the same way.  AirPods Pro stay in longer, but still manage to work themselves out within a half hour or so while sitting on my couch working.

So the omission of these devices will in no way impact my purchase choices.  Especially since my however many year old Nokia 905 headset is superior in every respect about which I care, except bulk.
