I think you are confused. 'Glass' has been 'bendable' since we learnt how to make it. Just that it was only bendable during the manufacturing process.
'Edge' phones are not dead. They are design styles like flat or rounded edge phones. And in the case of Samsung Edge branded devices, they were not dead months later either.
In fact, the phone of the moment (Xiaomi Mi 11) uses an 'Edge' screen. As do Huawei etc.
