The Skydance and Apple TV+ film "Luck" adds Jane Fonda to the cast roster, voicing The Dragon.

Variety reports that Fonda will be the voice of The Dragon, described as the "exuberant CEO of Good Luck and undisputed luckiest ancient being in all the land. The Dragon is elegant, stylish and as persuasive as she is powerful. The only thing better than good luck is more good luck, so when bad luck starts to spin out of control, she must face her fears or risk losing good luck forever."

"Luck" will be directed by Peggy Holmes and written by Kiel Murray. There has been some controversy over the Skydance feature after they hired John Lasseter, who left Pixar following misconduct accusations.

Fonda is the first talent attached to the film since Emma Thompson departed her voice role in 2019. She left in protest of hiring Lasseter, though insiders say Fonda is not Thompson's replacement

Apple acquired the distribution rights to "Luck" and "Spellbound," and a two-season order for the animated series "The Search for WondLa" on Wednesday. There are no official release windows for either film or show.

Fonda is an award winning actress holding two Oscars, seven Golden Globes, two BAFTAs, and an Emmy. She previously worked with Skydance Animation as producer of the Netflix series "Grace and Frankie."

    I love Jane.
She was so good in so many things.  Especially of late-ish in Newsroom.

If, by dragon, you mean elegant, stylish and as persuasive as she is powerful, then yeah, I completely agree. Otherwise, I would suspect issues with the feminine.

Well, I doubt the dragon will be like a Benedict Cumberbatch interpretation.

Nah, her work for the Viet Cong propaganda machine was some of her best. And since then - doing her level best to deny and ignore that Communist Viet Nam has gone on to be the authoritarian repressive nightmare that pretty much everyone who didn't believe Soviet propaganda knew it would https://www.hrw.org/world-report/2020/country-chapters/vietnam - was even better because it demonstrated that her ever pretending to care about Viet Nam and its people was all a big act also.

Also, the right wing propaganda machine. There are a lot of falsehoods spread about her (poor choice) visits to Vietnam.

Also, your link has no mentions of Jane Fonda. It lists recent events and findings, not events during the Vietnam war. Not relevant unless you believe she is a psychic.

She was just young and naive from a privileged background, cloudguy. Such people are easy prey/useful idiots for political types. You shouldn’t hold it against her.

The new Millenial Cancel Culture would disagree.  All mistakes are fatal and are held against a person forever.

Funny peaking in Barbarella in 1968, after 4 Golden Globe nominations and 1 Tony nominations. .  Following that - just a few Oscar nominations (7), 2 Oscars (one of 14 women in history with 2 Best Actress Oscars - a group that includes her On Golden Pond co-star Katharine Hepburn - with 4 Oscars, Meryl Streep (who's first film career began with a small role in Jane's movie "Julie" - google Streep Fonda AFI to see Meryl pay tribute), Vivien Leigh, Elizabeth Taylor, Bette Davis, Sally Field, Frances McDormand (3 as of this year) and 6 other legendary actresses.  Rare company.  Plus 7 Golden Globes (more than a dozen nominations), an AFI lifetime achievement award, a Golden Globe Lifetime Achievement Award, 3 Emmy nominations (winner for Best Actress for The Dollmaker), and a 2nd Tony nomination that came in her 70s for 33 Variations.  A resume that spans dramatic classics such as Klute, They Shoot Horses Don't They, Julia, On Golden Pond and The China Syndrome (3 of which she produced), romances including Coming Home and Electric Horseman (one dramatic, one romantic comedy) and major hit comedies including Barefoot in The Park (with Redford. her most frequent and 4-time co-star), Fun With Dick and Jane, Nine to Five, and Monster-in-Law.  She also exec produced Coming Home and Nine to Five.  To say nothing of creating the video industry with her workout tapes
