Apple releases limited-edition Billie Eilish-themed gift card

Coinciding with the release of the Apple TV+ documentary "Billie Eilish: The World's a Little Blurry," Apple is offering a limited-edition version of its gift card themed to represent the musical artist.

The Billie Eilish Limited Edition Apple Gift Card is listed in the online Apple Store alongside Apple's other designs. The new option is both the top listing and the default for the page, and is one of nine designs users can choose from.

The Billie Eilish-themed Apple logo is green on a blue background, with gradients on each of the sides to give a form of glowing effect. The logo matches the aesthetic of the documentary's promotional images, as well as Eilish's signature green hair coloring.

Other than the logo, the gift card spotted by 9to5Mac functions the same as all the other options, including the ability to personalize it and to vary the value. It can be sent as either an email or as a physical gift card, with the latter including a collectible sticker.

The page draws attention to the logo's limited-edition nature, though doesn't state how long it will be available to purchase. Further down the page, a graphic explains it is to "celebrate the launch of the new film."

Starting from $25, the Apple Gift Card was updated in July 2020 to unify the company's various gift cards into one solitary offering. It can be used toward buying hardware from the Apple Store itself, as well as for App Store purchases and towards the company's other services.

Released on February 26 via Apple TV+, "Billie Eilish: the World's a Little Blurry" gives a glimpse into the life of the Grammy Award-winning musician. This includes the early years of her career, her struggles with depression and Tourette's Syndrome, and her numerous successes.

I just can’t with this Billie Eilish thing anymore.  We get it.  She’s talented.  Apple is pushing her as the next John Lennon.

That is being generous.  I was thinking more like a handful.

Actually, she is not talented.  Her music is dull.  There is nothing special about her, but somehow writing a song in your bedroom with your brother is supposed to be something no one has ever done before.  It is bizarre how Apple is pushing this, but sorry, it is not going to get more people to subscribe to or watch AppleTV+ to see some kid running around wearing oversized baggy clothes because she has no self esteem and thinks she is entitled.  Just sweep her under the rug like Lindsey Lohan.

This may come as a surprise, but I don’t think you are the demographics that Apple is looking for with this project.

    At least I finally know she's a she. I wasn't certain.

I don't know her music (even as musician myself), but I was willing to grant the talent aspect for the purposes discussing Apple's pushing of her.  I already went on my old man rant in a previous thread.  I agree...I'm sick of the hero worship of an 18 year old who thinks people should listen to her ignorant societal and political opinions.  It reminds me of a 17 year old Miley Cyrus "coaching" contestants on American Idol.  The one contestant looked at her and said "I'm a big fan of your Dad."    :D

Taste in music is extremely subjective.

You should get to know a person before making statements like this.  She does have low self esteem - she has stated this publicly.  I've seen several personal interviews and don't get the "entitled" vibe at all.

I'm not sure if Billie Mania at Apple is overdone yet or not. Maybe if they come out with fluorescent green iPhones and matching AirPods it might be a touch much. But "generational marketing" is hard to get right.

Apple has overdone it before with U2, maybe with Project Red, maybe even with Steve Jobs event-a-morials (sacrileges acknowledged in advance. Mea maxima culpa, ignosce me).
