YouTuber builds 'first' Apple Silicon iMac using old iMac & M1 Mac mini

Newer iMacs such as my 5K 2017 model lack target display mode which is a pity as they would make great external monitors. 

I’d be interested if there was a way to hook them up to an M1 Mac Mini to extend their usefulness.
