Motif, the company Apple previously used to fulfill print orders through the Photos app, is launching a new option for its own photo printing service -- high quality canvases.

Apple previously offered photo printing services integrated directly into iPhoto. In 2018, Apple pulled back and discontinued this service as it opened up its API allowing various third-party offerings to directly integrate with Photos instead.

The supplier of Apple's photo prints, books, and other physical objects was Motif. Motif's app integrates directly into Photos on the Mac and can easily access your photo library on iPad as well.

Its new update that has officially rolled out adds canvases to the array of printable options. Users can now select between calendars, soft cover photo books, hard cover photo books, and canvases.

The new canvases start at $29.99 for an 8-inch by 10-inch and goes up to $139 for a 24x26-inch print. A 10x14 for $59.99 and 16x20 for $69.99 are also available options.

Motif offers .75-inch and 1.5-inch edge sizes with the latter better-suited for wall hanging. You can choose between an image wrap effect, white, or black edges.

If you'd like to try Motif's new canvas prints for yourself you can do so from the Motif app.

The best replacement for the old option is “friedmann print” it’s the only one that fully feels “Mac”

RR Donnelly is the company behind the Motif app. They have a huge commercial printing operation...books, magazines, product packaging etc.
