Apple has renewed its popular "Carpool Karaoke: The Series" for its fifth season, with the series officially moving to Apple TV+.

Formerly a skit performed on "The Late Show with James Corden," "Carpool Karaoke" first premiered on Apple Music in August of 2017. The first four seasons of the series were not behind the Apple TV+ paywall, and as such, were available to stream for free.

Going forward, the series will air exclusively Apple TV+, which will require an active subscription to watch it. However, Deadline points out that the four previous seasons will remain available to watch through both Apple Music and the Apple TV app.

In each episode, celebrities sing along to well-known songs, visiting places meaningful to the guest, and surprise fans. Past performers have included Weird Al Yankovic, John Cena, The Sharks of "Shark Tank," Patricia Arquette with David Arquette, and The Muppets.

In both 2018 and 2019, Apple secured an Emmy for the series, winning in the "Short Form Variety Series" category.
