Apple appears to be quietly offering 6% daily cash back for Apple Card users who purchase new hardware or accessories from the online Apple Store.

The new promotion, which has yet to be officially announced, was first spotted by Tailosive Tech. At least one other user also shared an image of their Apple Store transaction netting 6% in Daily Cash Back.

AppleInsider has confirmed the cash back promotion applies to all Apple Store purchases.

Haven't seen anyone show this but perhaps there's a 6% cash back promo Apple hasn't announced yet? I just hope this isn't a bug Didn't apply to my AirPods 3 so possibly if you spend over a certain amount they go to 6%? pic.twitter.com/PVc8sDsshF

It isn't entirely clear when exactly the promotional rate kicked in, though some users have noticed the 6% cash back on their MacBook Pro pre-orders. However, some users aren't seeing that amount for their own Apple Store transactions. This may be because their apps have yet to update with the promotional rate.

This isn't the first time that Apple has offered a 6% cash back rate. Back in 2019, Apple ran a 6% cash back promotion during the busy holiday shopping season. Earlier in 2021, it also offered new Apple Card holders 6% daily cash on certain purchases for a limited time.

The promotional rate only applies to purchases made with an Apple Card on Apple's online storefront or the Apple Store app. It excludes purchases from the App Store.

Maybe if the EU stops threatening to litigate and make up new taxes to target Apple all of the time you might see a nice deal like this.

Will need to cancel my MBP purchase till this comes out.

Still only see 3% on my $5K MacBook Pro purchase. Was already thinking about cancelling. This would clinch it.

I just looked at my Apple Wallet and it shows that over seven hours ago the 6% cash back on both the 14" M1 Max laptop and the extended warranty were posted. The store still says preparing to ship.

Why, indeed. They should have done a deal with one of the many giant financial companies that finds good homes for cute puppies.

October has been expensive.  Ordered a new AppleWatch 7 for my dad (for a holiday gift), a new iPhone pro for myself, and one of the new MacBook Pros for myself also.  All on the Apple Card.  None have shipped so far.  Also all of them are on the 12 months no interest payoff plan.  If this 6% thing is true, I could re-order, and save almost $250 on all those orders put together.  The shipping dates would get pushed back and I think I would have to pay in one lump sum, but everything would still arrive in time for xmas so...

Yet when I make a new cart, it still shows 3%.  Hmmm

I don't live in the EU, and even if I did, I doubt that has anything to do with anything.

I chatted with an Apple Store Specialist about this specific topic and she denied that there was a 6% offer.

My most recent (2021/10/20) Apple Store transaction still just recorded 3%. This was a very small order however - just some AirPod Pro ear tips. If there is a minimum order size required to qualify for that promotion, this order would be woefully short!

However I do have two other pending orders. The largest one is for my new MBP that is scheduled for delivery sometime around Nov 10. Since they don’t run the AppleCard charge until they are ready to ship, I still have a few weeks before that Apple Cash will post.

My other order is for a new Apple Watch 7, but that isn’t scheduled to ship until early Dec at this point…probably still at least six weeks out!

The difference, if this promotion is real, would be an additional $120 back on my MBP. That’s certainly not inconsequential, however I don’t think it’s enough to convince me to cancel my order. I have been anxiously awaiting this machine since the M1 was announced last year so I don’t want to delay my delivery further for a non-confirmed promotion.

Well, think of it this way:  That's like getting 25% off your AppleWatch 7.  A $120 discount is pretty good.

For those discussing cancelling their order, your card isn't charged until the order is shipped. So should be safe assuming this comes out and your product hasn't shipped (most haven't).

Because the vampire squid know how to extract money from anything. 😆

I have found that fruit stand employees aren’t always kept up-to-date on corporate decisions.  If you have been following certain semi-anonymous fruit stand people on Twitter you will notice a great deal of frustration in the ranks - a lot of very unhappy campers.

I'm sure it has far more to do with the fact that Goldman Sachs is an American bank. They would need to partner with a European bank to start offering cards in the EU.

Apple seems to choose partners based upon how amenable they are to working the way Apple wants to and Goldman was already starting to grow consumer facing banking products. I am sure Goldman was quite happy to score Apple as a partner.

I was billed yesterday for an iPhone and I got 3%, not 6%.   I also recently used the physical Apple Card at the dentist and only got 1%.  I was expecting 2%.

Just got an email from Apple or Goldman saying the 6% was an error in the system. However, as a courtesy, they posted the second 3% payments to complement the first 3% payments. Actually the second 3% show as payment to my account as the warranty and laptop are showing “pending” in the wallet. Once the order status changes from “preparing to ship” to “shipped”, Apple will take the money.
