Is there a terminal command that will kill this annoyance with Mojave OS? Thanks for any help.

Restart your Mac and turn off System Integrity Protection
Open Terminal and enter sudo rm /Applications/Photos.app
Enter your admin password.
Restart your Mac and Turn SIP back on.
But -- Photos is incredibly integrated into lots of macOS features. macOS will always look for the app, and there's no way to associate it with another Photos-like app.

Thanks. I contacted Apple and they played dumb (as usual).
