A new rumor claims that Apple will follow up a 2022 "iPhone SE 3" with an "iPhone SE+ 5G," which may launch in 2023.

Following rumors of a "muted" iPhone SE upgrade in 2022, and a more radical redesign in 2024, a new rumor claims that the design change will come sooner than expected. There will still be a 2022 iPhone SE, but the revamped "iPhone SE+ 5G" is now said to be due in 2023.

The report comes from Display Supply Chain Consultants analyst Ross Young, whose Apple reports most recently included details of the "iPhone 14 Pro."

Next SE model is rumored to be called SE+ 5G and will have a 4.7" LCD. Previously said the next SE model, SE3, would either have a 5.7" or a 6.1" display. It is now looking like it will be 5.7". May be launched in 2023 rather than 2024.

In response to questions on Twitter, Ross later added that there is also a possibility that the screen may be an OLED one instead of LCD -- if display costs come down sufficiently by then.

Young has a generally good track record in supply chain information about Apple's future products, at least where displays are being used. That includes what turned out to be correct rumors concerning the lack of 120MHz ProMotion displays back in the iPhone 12 Pro.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but wasn’t 2023 always rumored to be the year the SE got its big redesign? I never heard anything about 2024 being a possibility until this article.

2023/24, don't care but when next SE is released, better be re-design with more screen real estate and telephoto/wide angle camera, internal hardware upgrade with WiFI 6E,5G.
