they've switched to focusing more on reducing australia's dependence/production of coal, of which i think australia is a major producer.
coal is nasty stuff, but apparently oil shale carbon dioxide emssions are way way worse.
we can have a scientific debate here if you like, but i have to dig up research papers and stuff, just commenting on coal and oil shale here at the moment
oh and Coal is the main reason why australia has not signed Kyoto
however, in australia, you can ask that up to 10 or is it 20% (?) of your electricity bill MUST come from renewable sources. you pay maybe 3-5% more in your bill though
