Halide 2.7 adds new batch actions feature for improved image management
On Tuesday, Halide updated its popular iOS and iPadOS camera app that allows users to perform batch actions on photos and an improved "image rescue" feature.
The Halide team has rolled out Halide 2.7, an update geared at making the app easier and more reliable to use.
For example, in 2021, Halide users found that occasionally they could not save photos shot with the app. However, the developers report that they found that this was an issue with iOS and not with the Halide app itself.
Halide will store a copy of the image within the app to combat this known bug, allowing users to continue shooting photos. Then, a user can return to the photo and choose to move it off-device another way, such as AirDrop to macOS.
The team has also delivered a long-requested feature -- batch actions. Users can now quickly perform batch actions, such as selecting and sharing deleting multiple photos from the new grid view.
Long pressing on an image in the grid will allow users to bring up a contextual menu, allowing users to delete, favorite, or share a photo.
The grid view also will show a heart icon over a user's liked photos, offering a quick way to separate the best images from a shoot from the rest.
In October, Halide 2.5 introduced macro photography to all iPhone modes from the iPhone 8 and up.
