The updated G2H Pro, which launched in China back in December, retains the same form factor as the G2H but has been updated with fresh internals. It now surfaces the alarm to the Home app and supports all four security system modes.

Just like with the G2H, the new model supports HomeKit Secure Video for its onboard 1080p camera.

It has a new, wider field of view, expanding from 140-degrees to 160. With the ability to act as a hub, its number of child devices has doubled from 64 to 128.

In a forthcoming update, the G2H Pro will support a local SMB NAS device, allowing for more versatile storage outside of HomeKit. If you use the Aqara app, there are new masking and privacy options available.

For non-HomeKit users, the G2H Pro also supports Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.

The camera is available no for $69.99. At launch, users in the US and Canada can save 15 percent on Amazon with promo code G2HPROPR while users in UK, Germany, and France can use promo code PRG2HPRO.

1080P is not a lot of resolution to stretch over 160 degrees. How clear are faces and other identifiable details going to be unless they happen to be close to the camera?
