Continuing its series of training for business founders from underrepresented backgrounds, Apple has announced the start of its new Entrepreneur Camp for Latin founders.

The new camp is part of Apple's Racial Equity and Justice Initiative, which is already supporting Black, Hispanic/Latinx, and women business founders.

"We are so excited to bolster the impact of Entrepreneur Camp with the addition of this new cohort for Latin technologists," said Lisa Jackson, Apple's vice president of Environment, Policy, and Social Initiatives, in a statement. "It's an honor to support these founders and developers on their journeys as they build amazing apps that connect, inform, and inspire us."

During Entrepreneur Camp, participants "receive mentorship, inspiration, and insights" from Apple's leaders. Developers also get "one-on-one code-level guidance from Apple experts and engineers."

The new Camp includes business leaders and developers from nine app companies, which range across the US, Brazil, Guatemala, and Portugal.

Three of the companies represented are either from the US, or jointly the US and Guatemala. They include Encantos: Play, Learn & Grow, an app that founder Steven Wolfe Pereira started as a way to share his Dominican culture with his children.

Four firms are from Brazil, including Tripify, a company named after its "holistic travel app." It's one app that handles the practicalities of planning for a trip and managing expenses, plus the more fun side of logging places visited.

Then Sing: Your Fitness Companion, is a health and wellness app developed by a company from Portugal.
