New StarTech Thunderbolt 4 dock provides enough power for a 16-inch MacBook Pro

StarTech's new docking station allows users to connect favorite peripherals to a Mac with a single cable, while providing full power to a 16-inch MacBook Pro.

StarTech notes that the dock is rated to support up to 40Gbps data transfer speeds, 8K video input/output on supported Windows machines, and up to 96W USB-C Power Delivery suitable for keeping a 16-inch MacBook Pro powered when under maximum load.

The TB4CDock includes the following ports:
  • Three Thunderbolt 4 ports

  • Three USB-A 3.2 10Gbps ports

  • One USB-A 3.1 Fast Charge port

  • One Gigabit Ethernet port

  • One SD card reader

  • One 3.5mm in/out audio jack
Its small size -- 3.3 inches by 7.6 inches by 1.1 inches high -- allows it to be tucked away on the corner of a desk or under nearly any monitor. It's compatible with Windows and Mac devices with Thunderbolt 4 and USB 4. It is also backward-compatible with Intel MacBooks with Thunderbolt 3.

As the dock only uses a single Thunderbolt 4, Thunderbolt 3, or USB 4 connector, users can simply remove one cord from their Mac and take it to a new location. It's a handy solution for those who are still splitting time between their office and home.

The TB4CDOCK is available via Amazon for $402.31

I just scroll straight to the PD amount (good on this one!) and then the price (bad!). $400 for this kinda thing is ridiculous, not sure what the component cost is on these things but it's simply not worth the money.
