Pixelmator Pro 2.4 brings major improvements to the Mac image editor including updates created especially for Apple Silicon.

Among the new updates include a new layers sidebar, which allows users to organize and manage all layers in a project. A fresh, new look allows users to easily recognize specific layer types, such as images, shapes, text, RAW layers, groups, and more.

Pixelmator Pro 2.4 also includes more than 200 new, artist-designed vector shapes, in categories such as science, activities, and symbols.

New layer types are being added to Pixelmator Pro for the first time in its history. The highly-requested color adjustments and effects layer will allow for more efficient workflows by non-destructively applying effects to the entire layered compositions.

The update also includes support for Apple's new M1 Ultra processor. This support allows for better optimizations for the machine learning models and tasks. Features like automatic background removal, super-resolution, and photo enhancement will be up to 70% faster on M1 Ultra when compared to M1 Max.

The new Pixelmator update is now available on the App Store. The update will be free for existing users, and new users can purchase it for $39.99.
