Blizzard introduces new 'Warcraft Arclight Rumble' iOS game

Blizzard's first-ever "World of Warcraft" spinoff mobile game called "Warcraft Arclight Rumble" is coming to iOS soon.

The strategy game is set in the "Warcraft" universe and uses characters and locations from throughout the expanded franchise. Players will collect miniature figurines to assemble an army to decimate opponents.

Anyone familiar with action strategy games will instantly recognize the formula presented in "Warcraft Arclight Rumble." Gameplay is centered around unit placement on the field to fight enemies, gather resources, and discover treasure.





Multiple modes will be available at launch, including a single-player campaign, player-versus-player battles, co-op, and more. No information about the release date has been provided.

Players interested in "Warcraft Arclight Rumble" can pre-register for information about the game direct from Blizzard. Once the game appears on the App Store, customers can pre-order the game, which will automatically download upon release.

    When Microsoft's purchase of Activision Blizzard takes effect in 2023, will Microsoft continue to sell this iOS app? Will Microsoft also sell the macOS apps that Blizzard currently sells to macOS users, like World of Warcraft? Will macOS users of Blizzard games be able to interact with Windows users of the same games? Does Microsoft sell any games for iOS right now?

    Sigh. Of course they will continue to sell games for MacOS and iOS. Stop living in the 90's.

    I dare say you're the one living in the 90's, thinking the issue is Mac vs Windows.  lol  More recently, Microsoft has even killed off games for Windows in favor of an Xbox exclusive.  It's not Mac vs Windows anymore - it's desktop vs console.

    That said... I think it's really unlikely that they'll pull Mac support from *existing* titles and expansions for those titles.  Going forward with new titles, though... yeah, I'd be concerned, even as a Windows user.
