Air purifiers are a good thing to have these days, and even better when they are controllable from HomeKit. But the air purifier itself doesn't really have to have HomeKit control built-in. I use a smart switch to plug my dumb air purifier into, and I can control it from HomeKit. However my air purifier has three speeds, and these speeds are controlled by a physical switch, so my setup allows it to operate on only one speed. For now, that's good enough for me.

In HomeKit I classified my air purifier as a "fan" so I can say "Her Siri, turn off all the fans". But I can also say "air purifier" because I named the switch by that name.
