    And the fear-mongering begins.
There has been plenty of fear-mongering about "competition and choice" for apps being bad on iOS from the EU with very little evidence to back it up. One of the most ardent supporters of the EU on this topic has repeatedly admitted that the EU is not basing the regulatory changes on actual evidence of competitive problems. It's entirely conjectural. The EU even ignored the fact that Spotify turned out to be lying about how their music streaming app was generating revenue on iOS.

    I am against it.

It's just time until amazon makes its own store, and mover their app over there an from that point on, my grandma will only use the amazon App Store, because she has no idea that it's a different think.

All the simplicity and reliability of iOS is gone the second they allow that.

But think of the old people!

Ugh.  You're as bad as the "But think of the children!" assholes.

It'll be fine.  If you don't want to allow alternative app sources, you don't have to use them.  Let the rest of us have control of the software we install on our iPhones without having to take the risks involved with jailbreaking.
