Satechi launches Thunderbolt Slim Hub, USB4 SSD enclosure at CES 2023
Satechi has released an affordable Thunderbolt 4 Slim Hub that offers fast data transfer rates and external monitor support for Mac owners, and a USB4 NVMe enclosure.
Satechi Slim Hub
A slimmer and more simplified version of its popular Thunderbolt 4 Dock, users can easily transport this new compact hub for user convenience.
The Thunderbolt ports are backward compatible with USB 4 and USB-C generations one and two. The hub also has one USB-A port that offers speeds up to 10 Gbps.
Ports offer up to 40 Gbps transfer speeds and 15W of fast charging for iPhones
Designed for Thunderbolt 4 PCs and Thunderbolt 4/3 based Macs running macOS Big Sur and later, the Slim Hub can support two 4K screens at 60Hz, one 8K screen at 30Hz, or one 6K screen on M1 and M2 Macs. In addition, users can expect an included 100W GaN power supply with the hub for optimal power efficiency and distribution.
Satechi designs many of its products with Apple's aesthetics, and the Slim Hub is no different. It's made of aircraft-grade aluminum with curved corners.
Satechi's Thunderbolt 4 Slim Hub is available for $199.99. Shoppers can benefit from an introductory sale of 20% off with code CES20 through January 12.
The enclosure allows for quick and easy installation of M.2 NVMe drives. Supporting USB4 and Thunderbolt 4 high-speed SSDs with an upstream port transmission speed of up to 40Gbps, it's an excellent solution to expand storage, upgrade systems, back up files, and retrieve, recover, and transfer data.
The rugged aluminum design allows for sufficient heat dissipation, preventing devices from overheating and ensuring peak performance. In addition, the polycarbonate casing helps keep the enclosure within standard operating temperatures when users transfer files.

Installation is simple with Satechi's 100% tool-free plug-and-play design, making it easy to mount an SSD into the enclosure. In addition, it doesn't require extra drivers or tools, making it easy to start with the product.
The plug-and-play SSD Pro Enclosure is compatible with Windows, Mac, and Linux systems. The enclosure supports M.2 NVMe Drives in multiple sizes - 2,280mm, 2,260mm, and 2,242mm -- up to 16TB max.
The SSD file system must be supported on the host operating system to be accessible, and as with all SSDs, new media must be formatted before use.
