Marshall's Middleton Bluetooth speaker is water-resistant & app-controlled

Marshall Headphones has launched a water-resistant Bluetooth speaker called Middleton with multi-directional stereo sound.

The Middleton speaker has controls for playback, bass, and treble using controls on the speaker or within the companion app. Built-in Dynamic Loudness adjusts the tonal balance of the sound, so music sounds excellent at every volume.

Middleton uses True Stereophonic, a unique form of multi-directional stereo sound from Marshall. The company claims that it that can offer spatial audio and binaural sound for a surround-sound experience in a single unit.

The speaker has an IP67 rating for resistance to dust and water, making it a flexible speaker that works indoors and outdoors. And a single charge offers over 20 hours of playtime and reaches 100% battery life in 4.5 hours, or two hours of playtime with 20 minutes of charging.

Audio specs for the Middleton include two 3-inch 15W woofers, two 3/5-inch 10W tweeters, and two passive radiators. It also has two 20W Class D power amplifiers for the woofers and two 10W Class D amplifiers for the tweeters.

Besides Bluetooth 5.1 with a range of 30 feet, the speaker also includes a 3.5mm port for audio input, though it doesn't have a microphone system.
