Has anyone said this yet: Maybe the new, rumored 15.4" Aluminum PowerBook and the rumored 15" Tablet with detachable keyboard are ONE AND THE SAME!!!!!!

Probably not, because recent articles from digitimes.com report...
the switch away from Quanta probably has more to do with Steve busting their chops for breaking NDA (Steve hates leaks... news of "plastic making" has issued from Quanta a few times). i recall seeing a connection between the dots of Quanta leaks and Apple announcing a new Taiwan (competing) supplier... will have to search for linkage.
as for the absence of battery in a portable device,
Comrade Tesla's plan has merit, but there are other possibilities...
Kinetic option -
could be electrodynamic like some watches that convert arm or body motion (kintetic) into stored (potential) energy...
sort of a reverse twist on the etch-a-sketch...
must shake tablet occassionally to prevent the screen from blanking
Bamboo-bicycle option
those clever brits/southafricans who brought us the Bayliss/Baygen series of "wind-up" radios and flashlights point to another option...
but it would have to be called the Hamster or the Gilligan.
an excellent desert-island or post-apocalyptic backup option
WoMD option
futurists might wish for the NASA-inspired RTG-powered device... a tiny lump of plutonium gradually decays and the stripped electrons are put to use the same way many outer-planetary probes get their juice...
of course the Homeland Security folks will confiscate all such devices.
Earth Day option
Organic Light Emitting Diode (OLED) Screens are coming. Visible without backlight even in bright sunshine. Who's to say the next "insanely great" innovation isn't a hybrid OLED and solar cell, so not only can you easily see the tablet screen while outdoors, it actually draws power from the Sun.
Imagine the shock of seeing sysadmins and lab geeks with suntans instead of monitortans! Plus, the adoption rate in education would skyrocket if all labs then became patio deck classrooms... imagine the switch campaigns.
we now return you to regular rumourmongering, already in progress

The final victory of personal computing?
Multi client timesharing systems for a few thousand bucks!!
Just like at MIT in the sixties for ten million or so less!!
"Meet the new terminal, same as the old terminal."
It's funny to think of these as VT100 terminal, but with Quartz Extreme!
Exactly.
What's the Netboot limit for OS X Server (licenses aside), 50?
I'd have to look it up, but that sounds right.

Quanta will manufacture Apple's iMacs and new 15" tablet/display thing.
And, Compal is manufacturing the 17" AND new 15.4" PowerBooks.
According to this article, Quanta makes/made the 15" TiBook but will not be making its replacement.
Just my 2 cents?
