Tozo Golden X1 review: wireless ANC earbuds with customizable audio
The Tozo Golden X1 earbuds offer audio customizations and deep bass -- even if you don't have deep pockets.
Review: Tozo Golden X1 wireless ANC earbuds
Tozo may not be a household name, but it has a loyal fan base on Amazon, where some of its products boast over 300,000 ratings. One of their budget offerings is the Tozo NC9, a pair of wireless earbuds with decent performance.
For a more premium option, the Tozo Golden X1 comes with rich sound quality and more features. Whether you enjoy listening to music on your iPhone or watching shows on your iPad, you may be pleasantly surprised at the performance of the Tozo X1 earbuds.
However, although the Tozo X1 earbuds work well with Apple devices, you will not get the same audio experience and integration as the AirPods Pro. These wireless earbuds might be a suitable alternative if you are not concerned about features like spatial audio and Apple's Handoff.

They do not have in-ear detection capabilities, so you're not going to get the AirPods party trick of playing an audio track when you put the earbuds in.
Even so, the Tozo X1 earbuds offer high-quality sound and active noise cancellation (ANC). The ANC feature was tested in various sound environments and was impressive in reducing ambient noise.
These earbuds also have 12mm dynamic drivers that reproduce treble up to 44.1kHz and 12Hz bass. They were tested with various music genres on Apple Music, and they produced delightfully clear treble and powerful bass.
You can also download the Tozo app to take an auditory test. Taking this Earprint test lets you tailor the audio to your hearing needs.
The Tozo app allows you to customize audio settings according to your needs
The auditory test involves listening to a series of low to high-frequency beeps and indicating whether you can hear them. It only takes about a minute, but doing so can improve your listening experience because the earbuds will compensate for any hearing deficiencies.
Also, you can choose from 16 EQ presets or create your sound profile. You can select from six noise reduction modes and change the touch controls according to your preference.
Although you are not required to download the Tozo app or take the auditory test, these are excellent options if you want more control over your listening experience.
The earbuds have environment noise cancellation (ENC) microphones that help filter out background noise. They were tested during a 2-hour call, and there were no issues with interference or latency the entire time.
While these earbuds are not waterproof, they are IPX6 water-resistant and can withstand some water or sweat exposure.
Tozo Golden X1 earbuds come with ear tips in various sizes and a USB-C charging cable
To ensure proper ANC and all-day comfort, you must wear the correct size of ear tips to create an appropriate fit in the ear canal. The box includes six ear tip pairs for you to choose from, with sizes ranging from XS to XXL.
The earbuds were very comfortable to wear for hours without causing any discomfort or fatigue.
According to Tozo, these earbuds can last up to 8 hours on a single charge, and up to 32 hours when used with the charging case. There is a USB-C port on the charging case, and you'll also get a USB-C cable, but you can also charge these wirelessly.

One drawback is that the earbuds do not support fast charging, so you must be mindful of how much battery you have left throughout the day. Thankfully, these earbuds make it easy for you to keep track of battery life.
The inside of the charging case has an LED display that shows each earbud's battery level. You can also check the battery status on the Tozo app.
Since Tozo offers a broad range of low-priced earbuds, you might be surprised at the comparably higher cost of their X1 earbuds. Although they might be cheaper than other high-end earbuds with similar features, you may still prefer to spend your money on well-known brands in the market.
The Tozo Golden X1 earbuds are a solid choice if you want rich audio tailored to your hearing needs and sound profile. That is, if the lack of brand recognition doesn't deter you.
Buy the Tozo Golden X1 earbuds from Tozo on sale now for $149.99, or get them from Amazon with an additional $15 coupon, for a reduced price of $134.99.
