I knew these could be fitted with prescription lenses, but I didn’t know you could wear them with glasses too. Was this already common knowledge?
you can’t wear them with glasses?
Of course not. They are form fitting goggles, there is no room for a pair of glasses. They require extremely expensive prescription lens inserts.

Except the very first line of the story says you can.

Yes worked great for the Apple Watch Gold. Makes sense, if you don't want to sell too many of these.
More like, they know they won't sell many, so they have to do something to make it difficult to acquire, since demand alone won't.
Perhaps you lost your bearings on the way to MacRumors, a place where comments like this thrive and juveniles compete to be the biggest fucking morons.

I think that's just poor phrasing on AI's part.  You can use prescription lenses with them, in a particular custom form factor, but you can't use any old prescription glasses.

So, it’s a personal device? Every family member will require their own Vision Pro?

There is a guest mode, but it seems that there is only one primary user.

That depends on how far the lenses are from one's eyes.  Many of the existing headsets have barely enough room to wear a pair of glasses, and if it the headset is too snug, it's possible for both sets of lenses to be scratched.  From the keynote, the AVP doesn't looks like it would be able to accommodate an actual set of eyeglasses.

A previous AI article talked about how Apple was going to be working with Zeiss to produce prescription lens inserts.  I think inserts are more likely.
