[BI'm sure they use it...but I doubt they make many policy decisions based upon it. That's my point. And to my knowledge, Bush has basically said he has been faithful to his wife. I do agree that he answers more honestly and openly. Like the the DUI thing...he just said "That is an accurate story. There were ocassions in my youth where I drank too much. this was one of them". He took the story away from them.[/B]
I suppose that's your opinion.
What Bush did do was turn his drunken youth story into "the rake's progress to virtue" It's a religious thing. They eat it up all the time. Apparently you can slack off in your youth, get dui's, evade military service, start several failed companies- and attribute it all to a life before Christ. After your born-again-conversion to Christianity, you're as good as new, have a story to tell, and could eventually become President. Yes, the story is that good.
It never ends with you, does it? Shawn, I'd consider offering to pay for a semester's tuition for you if I could just hear you ONCE say something bad about a Democrat. You know, just once point to an obvious ****-up or ball-dropping by your guys and go "yeah, they blew it...".
Democrats. They're a weak bunch. (I suspect that might become signature material for some here)
I disagree with the majority of them for going pro-war. Talk about tying your hands! How about that patriotic Pledge of Allegiance crap they all supported? I've never seen Democrats so willing to be seen as Patriotic.
I suppose Senators must be patriotic. But I would think Democrats wouldn't have to be so eager to show that they are patriotic by ridiculously throwing their support and then some against the decision to ban "Under God" from the Pledge of Allegiance. The next day, the Democratic Senators could be found on the steps of the Capitol with their hands over their hearts shouting out the words "Under God" while reciting the Pledge.

But it worked! He answered honestly and it worked! On the rest of your point: Slack off? There's no evidence of that. In his book "A Charge to Keep", Bush states that he worked VERY hard to get through Yale. He also admits to be a bit of a drinker and partier. I disagree with the "slacking off" comment.
And you Shawn, the story WAS that good. He won the Govornership solidly and relection by a near landslide.
Oh, and I forgot how TRMENDOUSLY SUCCESSFUL and intelligent Gore was in his Freshman year of college.

My money is safe, I believe.
You like my steadfastness?

I didn't say patriotism was bad.

That's pathetic.
Daschle, Kerry, Gephardt, Lieberman....
Howard Dean is the man though.
