New 'Messi Meets America' series hits Apple TV+ soon

Apple TV+ has unveiled a 30-second trailer for its new six-part Lionel Messi documentary, which will premiere on October 11.

Footballer Lionel Messi's move to Inter Miami CF doubled subscriptions to Apple's MLS season pass, and his debut gave the streamer record high viewing figures. It wasn't exactly a shock, then, when Apple TV+ announced a six-part documentary charting his move to the US.


"Join Lionel Messi as he embarks on his historic next chapter -- taking North America and Major League Soccer by storm," says Apple, "and ushering in a new era with his Inter Miami CF teammates."

The previously untitled documentary series has now been named "Messi Meets America." Its first edition will debut on Apple TV+ on Saturday, October 11, 2023.

    I imagine it's going to be "Drive to Survive" translated to soccer. Perhaps with fewer (English) swear-words.
