Apple has released iOS 17.2.1 to the public, an update for the iPhone ahead of the holiday period.

iOS 17
iOS 17

Issued as the first incremental update since the release of iOS 17.2 on December 11, and the initial beta of iOS 17.3, the introduction of iOS 17.2.1 provided some small changes to the operating systems before the holiday period gets properly underway.

Such incremental updates tend to consist of bug fixes and performance improvements, and in some cases can include compatibility support with new hardware. Apple tends not to offer details about incremental updates in these instances, except when bug fixes are significant enough to highlight.

The build number for iOS 17.2.1 is 21C66, replacing the 17.2 build number 21C62.

For the previous iOS 17.2 update, Apple included changes such as the Journal app, Spatial Video recording, and changes to the Apple TV and Messages, among other elements.

To update devices to iOS 17.2 manually, users must open the Settings app then select General, then Software Update. If the update is available for the device, tap it and follow the on-screen instructions to install it.

But this is an iOS update, not watchOS.

I think I saw a bug in 17.2 which I hope this fixes. I couldn’t find my group chat with my sisters and mom, so I created a new one to ask a question. It then included one of softball teammates. He saw all these messages and he was like this is nice but I think you texted the wrong number.

Not sure how he got in there, so maybe it was a bug.

That's not a general issue, so maybe something on your end?

So how does the macOS Sonoma update come into play here on that?

The update brought 5G unconnectable and CarPlay réinstallation needed.
