The Infinite Loop campus is only a few minutes away from Apple Park, and both locations run Apple Stores, at least until January 20 when the old campus store is set to finally close.

Apple Park opened in 2017 with the Apple Park Visitor Center, which doubles as an Apple Store. Employees migrated to the giant Ring building, but both campuses have operated in tandem along with their respective Apple Stores, until now.

According to information obtained by MacRumors, the Infinite Loop Apple Store will close on January 20. The store is situated on Apple's previous campus, which operated as Apple headquarters from 1993 to 2017.

The Infinite Loop campus is incredibly close to Apple Park, which made the two Apple Store locations redundant. That didn't stop Apple from capitalizing on that for a while, as each location had unique t-shirts for customers to buy.

"After many years of serving customers at our stores in the Bay Area, we plan to close our store at Infinite Loop," an Apple spokesperson said in a statement. "All of our valued team members will have the opportunity to continue their roles with Apple. We look forward to welcoming our customers at our nearby Apple Park Visitor Center and other locations, on Apple.com, and the Apple Store app."

Employees displaced by this closure are being offered positions at other stores or within the company. Apple Park Visitor Center and Apple Valley Fair are both in the region.

This store closure is accompanied by another in Hawaii. The Royal Hawaiian Apple Store in Honolulu is also closing on January 20 according to the report.

As Apple fans, we're hopeful that Apple expands its merchandise offerings at Apple Park Visitors Center to make up for losing the Infinite Loop location. WWDC isn't too far away, and we're going to need more Susan Kare icon shirts.

Sad as I have many great memories of attending the Annual Shareholders meetings and then going to this store (which was really intended primarily for employees only).    I will also miss that "T-shirt design war" between the two campuses.    Each campus store got to design and sell its own T-shirts and the ones from One Infinite Loop were always my favs - I still have a black pirate version.    Thanks to everyone who worked at this store - it was always a treat to visit....

They still have the shareholder meetings at the Infinite Loops campus? Interesting...

This was actually The Company Store, mainly for employees maybe one of the few which offered the Apple employee discount. They had a ton of stuff besides a single t-shirt and maybe a mug like now. The Company Store was awesome unlike the current Apple Store, this will be no loss as the loss already happened years ago.
