Merry Christmas from all of us, here at AppleInsider

Whether you celebrate Christmas or not, all of us at AppleInsider wish you a happy and peaceful holiday season, and to say thank you for being with us in the tumultuous 2023.

Call it the Apple Tree. Jony Ive helped design the decorations for this tree, which was displayed in London's Claridges store in 2018

It looks like 2024 is going to be a rollercoaster in the Apple world, what with Apple Vision Pro finally being released, and the iPhone 16 range already sounding exciting.

But AppleInsider is not taking a break, we will be with you throughout the holidays with the latest news as it happens. Normally you wouldn't expect a great deal of news at this time of year, but there is just that issue of when in the world Apple will be able to sell the Apple Watch again.

Then whether or not Christmas is a quiet time for news, it's also the moment when more Apple devices are activated than ever. A lot of people are going to be giving and receiving iPhone, Apple Watches, iPad, and more.

If you don't want to be the one who has set up iPhones and Apple Watches for every single friend you've got, point them at us. We've got guides for setting up every device and they are continually updated.

So if it's been a while since you moved to a new iPhone, you might find the guides useful too.

We hope you'll also take a moment to enjoy our month by month review of 2023 in Apple News. You will be astonished how some things we take for granted were only introduced a few months ago, and equally there will be events that seem like they were just yesterday.

As well as looking at the past, though, this year AppleInsider wants to look at the future -- and needs your help. AppleInsider has not stood still during its 26 years, and that isn't going to change now. What you can do to help us keep evolving is tell us what you need, what you don't need, and how AppleInsider can best serve you.

Join the discussion on the AppleInsider forums to tell us what you think, and also to see what your fellow readers feel.

See you in the forums, and also right here throughout 2024. It's going to be a good one.

A Merry Christmas to the AI team and those posting here. 2023 was amazing with M3 being delivered in 3 variants before we expected even one, Studio being more than a stop-gap product, MBA 15 (and a better price for MBA 13), and a lot of nice OS upgrades. Apple Vision next year... where will it take us, and will it really be M1 based? Where will iPad go? Watch X? Will Apple fix how the mouse is charged or do more, now it must be upgraded for USB C? Will Apple TV get A17 and enter gaming? Will Siri be improved, and will it work on older devices? Is FineWoven here to stay? Perhaps we can even get a display or a polish cloth priced a bit more sensible.

A wish would be for Apple to make memory upgrades far more affordable and to be less stubborn at times. Fighting 10 years against USB C was a low and having Apple Watch blocked from sales - also after 10 years... inept. But then we got RCS and Qi2 + Magsafe... clever!
