Beating the 9 nominations it just got for the Art Directors' Guild awards, the Screen Actors Guild - American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) has Apple TV+ competing with 11 entries across its film and TV categories. They include nominations for individual actors as well as whole ensemble casts.
"Killers of the Flower Moon," by Martin Scorsese and Eric Roth, is one movie whose entire cast is nominated. So too, though, are its actors Lily Gladstone -- as Female Actor in a Leading Role -- and Robert de Niro -- for Male Actor in a Supporting Role.
For television, both "Ted Lasso" -- in its final season -- and "The Morning Show" receive nods for their whole casts, the former in the drama series category and the latter in the comedy series category. "The Morning Show" also sees a nomination for Billy Crudup in the Male Actor in a Drama Series category, while Jennifer Aniston has one for Female Actor.
The only category in which Apple TV+ is competing with itself is the Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Comedy Series one. There both Jason Sudeikis and Brett Goldstein are nominated for "Ted Lasso."
"Ted Lasso" also received a nomination for Hannah Waddingham for Female Actor in a Comedy Series. Then Brie Larson has been nominated for the Outstanding Female Actor in a Television Movie or Limited Series, for "Lessons in Chemistry."
The 30th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards will be streamed live on Netflix on Saturday, February 24, 2024.
