Annual shareholder meetings are held to vote on matters presented by shareholders and discuss the company's previous year and how future goals are being met. The news of 2024's meeting arrived just after Apple announced board members Al Gore and James Bell are retiring.

Apple announced its annual shareholder meeting via an SEC filing. Apple CEO Tim Cook shared a letter to shareholders discussing the upcoming meeting.

"It's been a remarkable year," Cook wrote. "In 2023, we made history by introducing the world to Apple's first spatial computer, Apple Vision Pro -- a revolutionary product that seamlessly blends digital content with the physical world, opening a whole new dimension for our users. We also launched our powerful iPhone 15 lineup -- including the iPhone 15 Pro models -- which continues to win over customers around the world with its profound innovations."

The SEC filing is a proxy statement filled with highlights about 2023. There won't be anything surprising to those who pay attention to Apple's financial sector.

For example, Tim Cook's 2023 target total compensation was $49 million, a 40% reduction from 2022. Cook actually earned $63,209,845, according to the statement.

Apple's annual shareholder meeting will be held on February 28, 2024, at 12 p.m. Eastern Time. To attend, vote, and submit questions during the meeting, visit Apple's meeting portal and enter the control number in your Notice of Internet Availability of Proxy Materials, voting instruction form, or proxy card.
