I think the author of this article has missed the most obvious indication of Apple’s marketing strategy for the Apple Vision Pro.
It’s in the name: “Pro”. This device is not “for the rest of us” as the author assumes. This is a device for Pro users—those who will use this device as a tool to make their living, and those who are willing to pay a premium for the best tech that Apple has to offer.
I predict Apple will do with Vision Pro what they did with the iPhone; creating two tiers: Pro and regular. So I believe there will next be an average consumer-oriented headset just named Vision, that will be less expensive but also have less features. For example, it might be lower res, lack EyeSight, and lack the ability to capture spatial videos. This non-Pro Vision headset will be the device “for the rest of us”.
