Math conspiracy comes to Apple TV+ in new thriller series
Apple TV+ has announced a new thriller series, "Prime Target," centered on a mathematician whose theory could break the security on every computer in the world.

It's the real-world Riemann hypothesis -- Edward Brooks (Leo Woodall) is on the verge of finally proving or disproving one of the great puzzles in mathematics. This is no curiosity, either, as the security of all computers and even bank transactions uses cryptography that is based on the prime numbers in the hypothesis.
"'Prime Target' features a brilliant young math postgraduate, Edward Brooks (played by Woodall), on the verge of a major breakthrough," says Apple. "If he succeeds in finding a pattern in prime numbers, he will hold the key to every computer in the world."
"Soon he begins to realize an unseen enemy is trying to destroy his idea before it's even born, which throws him into the orbit of Taylah Sanders, a female NSA agent (played by Quintessa Swindell) who's been tasked with watching and reporting on the mathematician's behavior," it continues. "Together they start to unravel the troubling conspiracy Edward is at the heart of."
Alongside Swindell and Woodall, the cast includes Stephen Rea, David Morrissey, Martha Plimpton and Sidse Babett Knudsen.
Created by writer Steve Thompson, the eight-episode series is directed by writer/director Brady Hood. It's a co-production for Apple TV+ between New Regency and Ridley Scott's Scott Free Productions.
