Next time you're heading out to the store, you can snag an Apple gift card and redeem it for free gems in Clash of Clans -- assuming you're heading to one of the stores participating.

has been a wildly popular game since it first came out in 2012. The freemium mobile strategy game is consistently ranked in the top 50 free games since its launch.
Customers who purchase a gift card between $25 and $49.99 can redeem a bonus of 500 gems, a $4.99 value. Those who buy a gift card of $50 or above can receive 1,200 gems, an in-game value of $9.99.
There are a handful of participating retailers, with most offers requiring a person to obtain the gift card in-store. A couple, however, allow you to purchase the gift card online.

The promotion Apple announced via e-mail requires that a customer purchases a gift card by March 31 and redeem the bonus offer by April 7. According to the fine print, each Apple ID may redeem a maximum of one offer.
