This isn't what we want. We want MacOS on iPad, just do that.
Or, better yet, an iPadOS that is still better, to the point that we are advocating for it to replace the aging MacOS. Understanding this is still 5-10 years away but we really should be in the realm of it being good enough now that we aren't seeing macOS on iPad noise.
This is the solution, iOS is an elegant OS and with some additional improvements it could easily replace macOS.
Also, if it has a ‘kickstand,’ it automatically sucks.
It's just an artist's concept, which most of the time involves it looking cool rather than have any actual product considerations. Even Kuo and Ross Young are just making up stuff on what the product is. All they know is that an Apple OLED supplier is working on a large folding OLED display, as it seems they have rumors from both the display vendors and the hinge vendors.
What product would these components go in? They both have waffled between an iPad or a Mac. The "as soon as 2025 or 2026" is them saying they have no idea as it takes Apple about 2 years to go from component development to mass production of a device. So nothing burger.
Thinking this through. If this folding OLED is going into a product that has battery, it is going to be, at minimum 3.5 lbs, but probably trend towards 5 lbs if you want an actual 10 to 12 hrs of web browsing.
That weight immediately means it will not serve as tablet, like the 1.3 lb 13" iPads are. Even 1.5 lb is too heavy to be a handheld tablet and be able carry it around with you. So, it will basically be a transportable clamshell or "tablet" to be used on desks or laps.
I also immediately think "no" to idea of carrying around a standalone keyboard as part of the product. People can choose to bring around a standalone keyboard with them, but a standalone keyboard is not going to be in the box. If there is going to be keyboard as default part of the product, it's going to be attached or integral like a laptop.
I also have troubles with thinking it can work as a touch tablet, even a desk tablet that is flat on the table. The driving technology is not a folding OLED or a robust hinge. The driving technology is the cover over of the OLED. If it is a touch tablet with stylus support, it cannot be plastic. It has a to cleanable like glass covered iPad displays. It can't scratch when using a stylus on it or scratched when cleaning. So, it will have to be an oxymoronic hard, but flexible glass or a some kind of surface hardened plastic.
Given the these constraints, it has to be a laptop. One thing it doesn't have to be is an all screen clamshell. It can just be a laptop with the usual base consisting of keyboard, trackpad, batteries, and logic board. The display side can still have a folding OLED. There could be 1 hinge along the long side, to make it a trifold, and when unfolded, it could be something like an 18 to 20 inch 5:4, 18:16 like display. There could be hinges on the short side, 2 hinges with one on each side. Unfolded, it could be a 21:9, 25:10 ultra-wide display.
At least with this option, they can have more powerful SoCs, like the Max SoC in the lineup. If it was an all screen folding form factor, I think they have no choice but to use the base iPad, MBA SoC which won't be a good fit for the type of customers of this type of product?

That's cool bro. Doesn't refute the fact that kickstands are "doing it wrong."

Based on the caption no artist was involved in even using the AI image generator. Indeed I’d be worried about the tech savvy of the prompter given the kickstand and other missteps in the output.
