Ahead of WWDC Developer app gets updated, YouTube gets keynote placeholder
Apple is gearing up for WWDC 2024 as it begins making all the expected preparations a week before its big event starts.
Apple's 2024 WWDC is June 10
On Monday, Apple rolled out an update to its official Developer app, geared toward making it a convenient place for developers to take part in WWDC remotely.
According to the update notes, the new release notes read as follows:
- Explore all WWDC24 has to offer, including video sessions, consultations, and more
- When a video ends, you'll see a related video to play next
- We've fixed bugs and added various other enhancements
In addition to the Developer app update, Apple has set up its placeholder YouTube page for the WWDC 2024 stream.
WWDC 2024 is set to kick off on June 10, with the keynote taking place at 10:00 am PT / 1:00 pm ET. Those interested can stream the keynote from YouTube, Apple.com, the Developer app, and Apple TV.
The Platforms State of the Union will happen a few hours later at 1:00 pm PT / 4:00 pm ET. It will take a deeper dive into the changes in iOS, iPadOS, macOS, tvOS, visionOS, and watchOS.
Apple Developer Program members and Apple Developer Enterprise Program members will be able to take part in online labs throughout the event and in live forums. There will be over 100 technical sessions across the week covering new technologies and frameworks.
A new report suggests that Apple will not introduce any hardware at WWDC 2024, and instead choose to focus on debuting its new AI-driven features and ongoing software developments.
Regardless if there is hardware or not, AppleInsider will be covering the keynote and select presentations live from Cupertino.
