Apple Books users can now discover the top audiobook picks from Reese Witherspoon, with the service now the preferred home for her eponymous Book Club.

Smartphone displaying Reese's Book Club, AirPods in a charging case, and smartwatch showing audiobook 'The Unwedding' by Ally Condie with 3 hours, 41 minutes remaining.
Reese's Book Club audiobooks can be listened to via Apple Books

A popular book club founded by Reese Witherspoon, Reese's Book Club selects a new book every month. Each recommendation is a book that spotlights a woman as the center of the story.

Under the new partnership between Apple and Witherspoon, Apple Books will have a dedicated page for the club. The page will include not only the current audiobook pick, but also notify when there is a new recommendation.

The page will also include a list of previous selections and themed editorial collections curated by Apple and editors of the book club itself.

More recommendations for audiobooks will be made throughout the year, selected by a community of authors and Help Sunshine talent.

"For so many people, audiobooks are a powerful and accessible way to enjoy the experience of an amazing book," said Reese Witherspoon, Hello Sunshine's founder. "We're truly excited to partner with Apple Books to connect our incredible community and audiobook lovers everywhere with the latest Reese's Book Club picks."

Eddy Cue, SVP of services at Apple, added that Reese "has been a powerful force in spotlighting diverse storytelling and new perspectives, and we're thrilled to welcome her to Apple Books, the best place to experience millions of books and audiobooks".

Hello Sunshine, part of Candle Media, has worked previously with Apple, including "The Morning Show," "The Last Thing He Told Me," and "My Kind of Country" for Apple TV+.

    Apple Books.
i am an avid ebook and audiobook listener, and try to use Apple Books wherever possible.
But since losing that court case, Apple seems to have given up, just going through the motions.this initiative won’t make a lick of difference.

audible/amazon has the market tied up, and isn’t giving Apple any chance.
Buy a kindle ebook and you can add audible version for a couple of dollars, or use the subscription service.
the same audiobook on Books can be ten times as much.

Maybe AI can solve this problem, and do an end run around audible.

Your local library (and to some extent Pirate Bay) have already done that end run, and it's no charge!

And btw, kindle books are mostly the same price as Apple e-books, and I always buy mine on Apple, even if they're a bit more, as Amazon is evil
